Didn't really know when would b appropriate. So today my family and I went out to dinner at Daves BBQ (great placee, by the way), and we were just sitting there waiting for our mouth-watering bbq sandwiches and burgers, and my sister brought up a show that she saw with a hypnotist. She started going into it and then my dad added about a time when he saw a show too and one of his friends was involved. Right then I blurted out a dumb comment like, "they're fake, and actors". Thats when the arguments started. my dad was extremely bias towards it so he started telling me how its all real, talking about parts of mental and visual thangs. I simply asked, what is that mental state that they said. he started explaining it and i would ask what is something else or how do u know thats what that is? It got pretty heated and i even used some examples from the book like the aliens and different views. Again, he is very bias and wouldnt accept anything i was saying and wasnt really thinking about what i was saying, so he started fire the questions back at me. I didnt let this happen too long. Anyway, he ended one of my questions with "thing". So i decided to just end it there. BUT, he wasnt going to just let it stop. He proceeded to pick up some bread and drop it onto the table saying, something about how didnt that happen and didnt it make a sound and didnt it hit the table. But does the view in the show/movie represent the view of the author, or is it just another show that is just put together like that? I think that what is shown in the movie or show is not neccessarily the view of the author. Sometimes it may be directly what they view, but I dont believe thats how it always is. To me, it seems like they are just doing their job. They are professionals, and study what sells to readers and viewers today. It might not be at all what they view, but because they want to be successful in the business they produce those kinds of movies. They most likely wouldnt be successful if everytime theywrote something, it was completely their view. They have to do what they need to do to be successful. This can be applied to many different areas as well. But for the issue of the story representing the author or producer, I do not believe that is how it is 100% of the time.

Interaction with darkness

In the poem, Adolescence II, I believe that the girl avoids interaction with the darkness that is surrounding her. It seems as if the darkness is trying to interact with her, but she does not want ot interact with it. Maybe as if the darkness represents old problems that she's had and that she doesn't want to be reintroduced to those ways. Also, the moon light that is sliced thru the blinds may signify her fighting against the darkness, with it being the only light that she sees. So I go out and buy those shoes. Does it really make me that all star athlete? No. in fact, in this particular example I wore the shoes for a couple weeks and I tore 3 ligaments in my knee while wearing those shoes. But anywho. It is seen everywhere, from tv to the Internet. With hyperreality, people can "make up a new reality that has completely misrepresented their true reality". Take Myspace for example. We hear about stories all the time on the news about a raping or kidnapping of a girl or boy that thought they were hooking up with a man or woman that seemed fine to them. Their profile may have said a 19 yr old guy that is very romantic and all that stuff, but come to fin\d out its a old child molester. Another example of where hyperreality is seen is on popular television shows. hyperreality "is an image without resemblance". In common shows it may show and teach that a sexually driven life is comepletely fine and that there is nothing wrong with one night stands and promiscuity. Hyperreality is everywhere and truly messes with the perception of what love and relationship is all about

sources:
http://csmt.uchicago.edu/glossary2004/realityhyperreality.htm

Capt. Is something happens of someone says something that will happen to him that isn;t too good he just accepts it and it doesnt ever really affect him. He pretty much just goes thru the motions of life and doesnt really care about his fate. Another thing is that he never has a definite role in the films. He goes thru changing his character and roles in the films. So making his own life or lives. This then makes the viewer have to choose what the believe his role is in the films which would be deconstruction, another major point to pomoism. So chea thats why i believe he is pomo.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://hamlet-ishscshamlet.blogspot.com/2008/01/capt-jack-sparrowpomo.html' title='Capt. Just bumped into someone on the road and talk about our life stories? Go down a bunch of stair cases and find some random person just waiting there to talk to? I didn't think this was really going to happen. So what I figured I was going to do was that while I was helping deliver some stuff to all the tully's and nordstroms and all those places from our bakery, I would actually talk to the people that I deliver to. Rather than just dropping it off and asking them to sign the dotted line. I thought this would work fine. Come to find out I didnt have to work that day. So sitting with the pep band at the girls varsity game I didnt know what I was going to do. In that lil thinkning to myself about this, I didnt hear what the next song was going to be that we played. I then asked this unknown figure holding a trombone in front of me what the next song was. He simply responded with "smoke on the water". Simple enough, but I thought I would try to engage in conversation. So I went on started to talk to him about the band, which then lead to talking about the school and basketball and all that good stuff. I found out that he actually played for a jazz band that i had actually seen play before. the whole thang was tight. not awkward or anything like that. We each leaned a lot about the other person.

structure? anti-structure? love song

In this love song, we see how thr writer structures his

love

song. Wanting them to be as natural as possible, not over acting or under-acting.

This is where the question comes in: is all art supposed to be a mirror image of society? At first I, right away, thought that it wasn't. Mainly because of all the obscene and out of this world stuff that we see. I thought that there was no way that that reflects society at all. But then as I thought about it, I think that all artists have to have some influence to their art. It may or may not be shown just straight up, but it theories, and techniques, etc. There may be a painting, that most people wouldn't think too much about. But it may have little signs of darkness in it, and you may find out that it was painted during the Great Depression. So going back to the question with out babbling on with attempts to illustrate my point, it seems like there is almost always some influence or some truth in much of the art that we see. . .

How much of a threat is Hamlet to Claudius?

At this point in Hamlet, everything is getting real intense and hectic. From hamlets "love" for ophelia and his insanity, to the foreign affairs happening outside of elsinore. Both Hamlet's insanity and foreign affairs come up here at the same time. THis is where the argument that Hamlet is a large threat to Claudius. As we see in 2:2, the subject of foreign affairs comes up, and what does Claudius do? He merely brushes it away, and moves on to his concern about Hamlets sanity. Claudius is a selfish man, and shows that his concern is more with his own self rather than the safety and protection of his people. Hamlet poses a huge threat to claudius, and he seems willing to do anything to figure out what is going on with Hamlet, so that nothing happens to him. Whats the threat tho? Im not too sure, but maybe he thinks that Hamlet knows about his murder, ands is afraid of what the outcome of that may be. Maybe its the threat of Hamlet taking over the throne. Or maybe, since Hamlet is like this, he is afraid that Hamlet may take Gertrude from him.

Lets hope thats not the case. . .
